The Rochester Rhinos are no strangers when it comes to opening night losses. The Rhinos continued their trend on Saturday night as they fell to the Toronto Lynx in front of 13,284 fans at a SRO Frontier Field. The 1999 U.S. Open Cup banner was also raised prior to kick-off.

Toronto scored first as Juan Arango knocked in a header in the 32' minute to take the 1-0 lead. Six minutes later Jimmy Glenn would put away a header on a beautiful service from newcomer Martin Nash in the 38'. Shortly after, Dos Santos would connect on a header seconds before the half to give the Lynx a 2-1 edge which would prove to be the game winning goal.

Rochester would later bring in new additions, Onandi Lowe and Eddy Sebrango to the lineup. The Rochester midfield showed major weaknesses in tonights match. The Rhinos will benefit from Scott Schweitzer and Tommy Tanner who will rejoin the team this coming week after losing in the NPSL finals with the Cleveland Crunch.
