Missed Oportunities

On a warm partly cloudy night in Charlotte NC., the Eagles and Silverbacks would meet for the first time this season and the first of a back to back weekend series. The Silverbacks come into the game below the Eagles and have recently made changes to their roster. The Eagles are coming into the game 3-3 in the league and off a big double overtime win against the Charleston Battery.

The game starts a little late due to another dominant performance by the Lady Eagles who defeat the South Jersey Banshees 4-0 and up their record to 5-0. The Eagles come out strong with Jacob Coggins creating some chances. At the 17th minute Coggins took a pass from Caleb Norkus and lofted a 15 yard shot over Bill Andracki. It was Coggins first A-League goal. Throughout much of the first half Silverbacks Forward Iggy Moleka caused defensive nightmares. His presense finally cause the Eagles to give the ball up and Paul Schnieder would score off a rebounded shot by Eddie Rodriguez. Ten minute later the Eagles would give the ball up again and Iggy Moleka would score with the assist going to Steve Armas. The half time score would be 2-1 Silverbacks.

The second half started with both teams settled into a defensive posture until about the 70th minute when the Eagles really turned up the pressure. For the rest of the game there were many flurries in front of the Silverbacks goal but the Eagles could not finish their oportunities whereas the Silverbacks converted both the defensive mistakes of the Eagles and won the game 2-1.
