Lightning struck for the second time in Cincinnati in the name of Paul Conway. Things started out pretty bright for the Riverhawks in the 1st half, with the game being played on even venues. The Hawks took advantage of their good playing when Simon Lowey nailed a shot from a bicycle kick with the assist going to Rockey in the 32nd minute. Such a beautiful goal!!
In the 2nd half the Battery came out playing with more discipline and organization. Taking it at the Hawks, they time after time frustrated the Hawks forcing them to commit 9 fouls before 1 was committed for the Battery.
After outshooting the Hawks 9-7 in the first half the Battery outshot the Hawks in the 2nd half 12-5. With the shots coming in at Estrada who was doing all he could to keep them out, a foul was committed by the hawks about 25 yards from goal.
In the 78th minute with the indirect kick at han,d the ball was tapped to Conway who shot the ball past the outstretched arms of Estrada knotting the match up at 1-1 where we finished 12 minutes later.
Into overtime again for these two squads. The last time between these two teams the Hawks were up two men and failed to take advantage. The overtime period started and the Hawks were looking a bit more inspired. The Hawks made some threats at goal having one good shot.
However in the 98th minute the Battery put the jolt to the Hawks again with Conway taking a shot from about 20 yards out on the left side and placing it into the far lower corner of the net. End of Game.
