In a match filled with lots of action, Cincinnati came up short 2-1 in a game that was much easier to watch for a Hawks supporter. All the scoring happened in the 1st half with Nashville showing some lively play. In the 6th minute off of a corner by Bailey, Wall headed the ball on to Cain and he wasted no time in heading the ball into the back of the net. Pretty goal and great execution on the part of the Metros.
In the 10th minute, Fenger after collecting a cross spotted Houser making a run and Houser put it away making it Nashville 2 Cincinnati 0. Play continued on up and down the pitch with both teams making serious attacks at goal. The Hawks persistence paid off with a goal in the 31st minute by JT Roberts with an assist going to RJ Kaszuba.
The Hawks are really pressuring at this point until a tussle occurs at about midfield between Fenger and Adams. Adams ends things with the thrust of his hands into the face of Fenger earning Adams a send off. Quite a stupid foul when the Hawks play was going quite well. The 1st half continued on with Nashville having an edge in play with the extra player.
The 2nd half started and for the beginning of the half the Hawks appeared to have all 11 players on the pitch. Play was going up and down the pitch. However, the Metros were denying the Hawks attack by not allowing many shots at goal.
The Metros picked play up and for about 20 minutes of the 2nd half they kept the ball on the Hawks end stringing together some shots. In the latter part of the game the Hawks tried in vain to put the ball on net but it was not to be as Nashville hung tough to deny the attack.
