Thiago Martins scored a goal and added an assist
for the Pittsburgh Riverhounds as they tied Atlanta,
2-2, before a turnout of 1,469 at DeKalb Memorial
Stadium on the campus of DeKalb College in Norcross,
Ga. on Saturday.
The Riverhounds began the same way they had the
previous night, with Corey Woolfolk scoring in the
fourth minute, from Martins, beating Atlanta
goalkeeper Dean Short for a 1-0 lead.
But the Silverbacks tied it in the 25th when John
Barry Nusum headed a cross past 'hounds cageminder
T.J. Hannig, with Joard Odera earning the assist,
and the score stood for the halftime break. It was
the first time the 'hounds had lost the lead this
year.
They fell behind in the 64th when Shakar Asad sent
a shot past Hannig, after getting a drop from Byron
Mitchell.
But the 'hounds tied it in the 77th when Martins
scored on a penalty kick after a handball was called
in the Silver-backs in the box.
There was no further scoring, despite Asad getting
ejected in the first overtime after a delay of game
call, giving the 'hounds the advantage.
The 'hounds bring their unbeaten steak home on
Saturday at 7:35 vs. the Toronto Lynx.
