'Hounds top West Virginia

Bethel Park, Pa.(5-14) The Pittsburgh Riverhounds(2-1-1) played an exhibition game on Wednesday afternoon vs. West Virginia in a special school day matinee, which was open to the public. The 'hounds came away with an easy 6-0 win over the Chaos, a team from the Premier Development League-the first pro soccer team in the state of West Virginia.

On a mild sunny day with a turnout of 1,129 at Bethel Park H.S. Stadium, the 'hounds looked more like a team on an unbeaten streak than they had in their home opener which they lost to Toronto on May 3.

David Flavius scored the first of the Riverhounds three first half goals in the 16th minute when he beat Chaos goalkeeper Chris McKinney from about 10 yards out with a shot that found the far left corner.

Brent Jacquette then made it 2-0 in the 33rd when his shot trickled inside the right post, beyond the reach of McKinney while the former Penn State product was on his back in the box.

The final first half goal came from Aleksey Korol, his first of two, with a shot just inside the right post from long range.

Corey Woolfolk increased it to 4-0 in the 66th, converting an easy cross inside the lft post. Korol's second goal and Ricardo Villar also scored to complete the score.

The 'hounds return to league action on Saturday(5-17), in the hopes of finding their official 3rd win, when they take their momentum to Rochester, then return home to finish their Lamar Hunt U.S. Open Cup series vs. Richmond, at 3 on Memorial Day.
