Rhinos And Rain Fizzle Silverbacks Fourth

The Rochester Raging Rhinos, after a thunder storm delayed the start of the game, continued their roll with a 2-0 win over the Atlanta Silverbacks.

Rochester hit early in the 5th when Lenin Steenkamp's pass into the penalty area found Jonathan Bolanos, who put in his 3rd goal of the year.

After a lot of rough play, which saw 25 fouls and 3 yellows in the first half alone, Mauro Carabajal picked up a loose ball, beat a Silverbacks defender with a nice cut move and chipped in the second ball over an advancing keeper Joe Barton to put Rochester ahead 2-0 in the 34th.

Things could have been worse for the Backs in the second half when Rochester was awarded a penalty kick in the 57th, but Barton came up big with a beautiful diving save off Carabajal"s attempt to keep it at 2-0.

Rough play continued throughout the second half. In the 89th, a mix-up between former Silverback John Ball and defender Joe Afful resulted in red card ejections and the game ended with shortly after with a total of 47 fouls, 6 yellows and 2 ejections.

The Silvrbacks have now dropped two in a row to fall to 5-7-3 while Rochester extended thier winning streak to 3 while improving to 8-5-1.
