On a beautiful night at Falconi Field, forward David Flavius lead the way for the hounds, who lead at the half, but had to settle for a 2-2 tie with Harrisburg, before 3,111 on their home opener at Falconi Field, on Friday evening.
The hounds, wearing black with Red and white trim, took the early lead in the 3rd minute when Dan Hartung headed a David Flavius cross past City Islanders goalkeeper Dave Kern and inside the right post.
The hounds had other chances also, but were not able to convert, most going wide and off target.
Flavius increased the lead in the 39th, beating Kerns on a break, off a pass from Greg Victor before the shot found the twine near the left corner.
In the last half, there were scoreboard problems, which were fixed about halfway thru.
Harrisburg cut the lead to one in the 53rd after Teofore beat hounds cageminder Chris Robinson to his right on a penalty kick, after a questionalble handball call.
The tying goal came in the 76th with a beautiful shot by Jamel Mitchell, who's shot from about 15 yards sailed past a diving Robinson and landed just inside the right post, similar to Hartung's.
Kern made two saves, both in the opening half, while Robinson finished with one save in the first half and two overall. The hounds outshot the City Islanders, 13-10 and collected 8 corner kicks to none for Harrisburg, who holds a record now of 0-1-1. The hounds are 1-0 and see action again on Saturday(5-6) at 7 vs. Western Mass(1-1-1).
