(Calgary, Alberta) - Joining the 2003 A-League's Calgary Storm are three members of an exciting and solid defensive core. The recent signings of three key defenders has given the Calgary Storm something to cheer about. These three members bring aggressiveness, size, speed and skill to the backfield for the Calgary Storm.
Conrad Chala, a 27 year old native of Calgary is entering his second season as a contributing member of the Storm. As one of the elder players on the team, Conrad was named to be a player/coach of the Storm. Accepting the challenge, Chala looks forward to leading the team with his experience, strength and aggression.
Liam DeSilva, a 26 year old native of Calgary is also entering his second season as a contributing member of the Storm. Liam, a tall attacking defender looks to bring his skill and experience back to the squad. Liam has been working hard during the off-season and is patiently awaiting the start of the 2003 A-League season. Liam is Vice Captain of the team.
C.J. Pesznecker, a 19 year old native of Calgary is joining the A-League Calgary Storm as a graduate from the PDL ranks. With his high-energy play this young player brings speed and grit to the defensive core.
Head Coach Tommy Wheeldon Sr. had this to say about the signings;
"The signing of these three local lads should be an inspiration to the young aspiring soccer players now playing in the Calgary Minor Soccer Association's youth leagues."
These native Calgarian's are looking forward to becoming contributing members of the 2003 Calgary Storm.
