Calgary Storm's Nick Zuniga was selected to the A-league Team of the Week for the second time this season on the strength of his game winning goal in Storm's 1-0 win over Cincinnati last Friday.
Zuniga, a 20 year old midfielder who played on the 2001 Storm PDL team, has now scored 3 goals and added an assist thus far in the 2003 campaign. Storm has now had four spots on the A-league Team of the Week so far in the early 2003 season, compared with one spot all last year.
Storm will be playing Vancouver Whitecaps in Saskatoon at 1:30, Saturday, June 14 at Griffiths Stadium on the University of Saskatchewan campus before returning to Calgary to play the Whitecaps at Foothills Park Sunday, June 15 at 7:00 p.m. In recognition of Father's Day, and through Valentine Volvo, all Father's will see the benefit of a half price ($5.00) ticket.
At half-time on the Sunday, June 15 Volvo Day game against Vancouver in Calgary, Calgary Minor Soccer will be presenting the Enmax/Storm Scholarships for post-secondary education in Alberta. Each of the four recipients will be receiving a $3,000.00 scholarship from the Enmax Corp. and Calgary Storm for the 2003/2004 school year.
