ISO Announces Charleston Battery VS. Atlante F.C.


Charleston SC. The Interamerican Sport Organization, NC has arranged an international friendly between the A-League Charleston Battery and the Mexican First Division side Atlante F.C on July 15, 2003; kick off is set for 8:00 pm. This is the second year in succession that the Battery has played a Mexican Primera (first division) team. In July 2002, Charleston defeated Puebla F.C. by a score of two goals to one.

“Obviously this is a great opportunity for the Charleston Battery organization, to host a team from the Mexican First Division. Atlante is a quality team that finished 2nd in their division this year. Our fans can expect a high caliber match between two prestigious Club teams from their respective leagues. ”

Formed in 1916, Atlante F.C. enjoyed considerable success in 2003 finishing second in the regular season Morelia. Atlante eventually lost in the quarterfinal stage of the postseason to Velacruz. Atlante F.C. won the Mexican Primera in the 1992 – 1993 season.

The Atlante F.C. roster includes several international players including the Chileans, Luis Ignacio Quinteros and high-scoring forward, Sebastián 'Chamagol' González. González joined Atlante in 2002 from Chilean Club Colo-Colo. Atlante F.C. will spend two weeks in the USA in preparation for the upcoming Mexican season, with additional games versus the Atlanta Silverbacks and the Charlotte Eagles.

Tickets
Tickets for the international exhibition between the Charleston Battery and Atlante F.C. are on sale now. All seats are general admission and are priced at $20 advance, $25 day of game. Tickets for children 12 and under are $10 advance, $13 day of game.

The Charleston Battery has arranged a special discount for 2003 season ticket holders who can purchase tickets in advance of the game for just $13 ($10 youth). ST holders may purchase tickets up to the number of season tickets that they currently hold.

Three Lions Club members will receive complimentary TLC passes if they purchase game tickets. Season ticket holders who are not members of the Three Lions Club can purchase passes for $10 subject to availability. A full bar menu will be available. All reserved Battery tickets are located in sections W4 & W5 and are available on a first come-first served basis.
