(Charlotte, NC) - The Mecklenburg County Board of Commissioners will meet tomorrow to vote for an upper limit for bond issuance for Mecklenburg County Parks. Approval for the full amount of $250M would pave the way for the development of the Matthews Sportsplex and future home stadium for the Charlotte Eagles Pro Soccer Team. The Charlotte Eagles would like to encourage the public to show their support for the Park Bonds by e-mailing the county commissioners and encouraging them to vote for the full $250M in Mecklenburg County Park Bonds.
Nathan Krum of Charlotte Eagles Pro Soccer had this to say about the Park Bonds: "the Mecklenburg County Park Bonds vote is a significant one that can have a great impact on the shortage of parks and public athletic fields in Mecklenburg County. For the Charlotte Eagles, a positive vote for the $250M would mean that development of the Matthews Sportsplex park could begin within the year. A stadium within those plans would be the future home stadium of Charlotte Eagles Pro Soccer."
The Charlotte Eagles would like to encourage you to contact your county commissioners at the e-mails provided below. The Eagles would also like to encourage you to be present tomorrow (Tuesday) at 5:30 PM in the lobby of the Government Center to show the commissioners our support and resolve.
