The Pittsburgh Riverhounds have won their last 3 of their last 4 contests, including two straight this past weekend, 2-0 over Bermuda and 2-1 over Crystal Palace Baltimore, both at Chartiers Valley H.S.. Three goals came from 'Boyzzz' Khumalo, who lifted the Hounds into 8th place in the USLD2 Standings.
Khumalo scored twice, on Saturday's win over the Hogges, who were unable to beat Hounds goalkeeper Zach Varga, for his second shutout of the season.
On Sunday, the contest was scoreless, until stoppage time of the first half, when Jason Kutney beat CP cageminder Brian Rowland with a shot inside the left post, to put the Riverhounds up, 1-0, at the Half.
CP tied it, in the 72nd minute, though, on a blast from Val Teixeira, who beat Andrew Keszler with a bullet to the upper right, from just inside the box.
However, Khumalo took the kick off, driving straight downfield, entering the box and beating Rowland, before finding the cage and deposing his shot into it, sending cheers throughout the facility.
Keszler prevented any further scoring by Palace with brilliant saves.
The Hounds, now in 8th, are now 3-9-5 and look to get another win, as they head for Saturday and host Harrisburg at 7:05.
