After being shut out in back-to-back games by the Harrisburg City Islanders, the Pittsburgh Riverhounds take to the road and try to climb back into the win column when they play two pivotal matches on the road in North Carolina this weekend. Friday night, the Hounds meet the Charlotte Eagles. On Saturday, Pittsburgh plays the Hammerheads in Wilmington. Both are United Soccer Leagues Second Division match-ups.
Pittsburgh is 1-2-2 (5-points) and in a two-way tie for seventh place with Charlotte, which is 1-3-2, in the current USL-2 standings. Wilmington is in third place with a 3-1-2 (11-points). Harrisburg currently leads the loop with a 4-1-1 slate (13-points). Pittsburgh dropped a 3-0 loss on City Island on May 9th, and lost the return match 1-0 at Chartiers Valley Stadium on May 16th.
Pittsburgh's next home game is on June 11th versus the Bermuda Hogges.
