Eagles Host Real Maryland in Play-off Game Wednesday Night

The Charlotte Eagles enter the play-offs riding a seven game unbeaten streak and have not lost at home since May 8. The Eagles are eager to use this momentum as they host the Real Maryland Monarchs Wednesday, August 19,2009, 7 PM EST at Charlotte Christian Stadium.

Real Maryland enters the match in fifth place with a record of 8-10-2. Meeting twice this season the Eagles hold the advantage with a win and a tie.

Still, Coach Steffens remarks,
"By no means are we taking this game lightly. Real Maryland is a quality team that can beat any team in the league. Both times we played them it was a tightly contested match. I do feel good about the Eagles right now though; I believe we are peaking at the right time. I look for a hard fought battle and an excited game."

The winner of the midweek match is rewarded with the unenviable task of taking on the regular season champions the Wilmington Hammerheads in one of two league semifinals on Saturday, August 22.

The Eagles' are also glad to announce that Alex Woods was released from the hospital on August 17th. Alex has a closed fracture of his right tibia and fibula which has been treated by a cast.
